CCAC Wastewater Operator Certificate Program
Dateline: 2/19/2026
This 180-hour program prepares
students for entry-level positions in wastewater collection and treatment
systems. It focuses on the practical aspects of operating and maintaining these
systems, emphasizing safe practices and procedures, and qualify the learner for a
CCAC certificate of completion with continuing education units (CEUs) for the
operation of wastewater treatment plant components and equipment.
Completion of
this program can aid the student as they sit for the DEP Part 1 General Exam
for Wastewater Operators. Components of the course are General Safety,
Introduction to Wastewater, General Math/Chemistry, Fundamentals of Wastewater
Treatment, Disinfection and Chlorination, Collection Systems Part 1 and
2.

2025 Safety Awards Application
Dateline: 2/26/2026
WPWPCA will be presenting awards to those facilities and collection systems that have demonstrated that safety is an important part of their operation. One award will be presented to a collection system that is operated either independently or in conjunction with a treatment facility. Two additional awards will be bestowed to treatment plant facilities: one for small facilities with 8 or fewer employees and the other for larger plants with 9 or more employees.
