Dear Wastewater Professionals,
I’m excited to share an update on a project
that’s been quietly taking shape behind the scenes! This past winter, the Executive Board
established a Brand Identity Committee with the goal of refreshing our Association’s
logo. We wanted a design that would honor our past while reflecting our region
and the vital work we do.
Through several brainstorming sessions, one
thing quickly became clear: our logo needed to highlight the unique region we
serve. That’s why the new design will continue to feature the outline of our
territory in western Pennsylvania, encompassing the counties of Allegheny,
Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Clarion, Crawford, Erie, Fayette, Forest, Greene,
Indiana, Jefferson, Lawrence, Mercer, Venango, Warren, Washington, and
Westmoreland.
Recognizing that WPWPCA is a member
association of the Pennsylvania Water Environment Association (PWEA), we also expanded
the logo to include the entire Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to showcase how the
Association fits within this larger professional community.
Finally, we knew the logo needed to be
practical—easy to replicate and clear in all sizes and applications. To that
end, we developed two versions:
1.
Primary Logo – featuring our acronym (WPWPCA),
our full name (Western Pennsylvania Water Pollution Control Association), and
our year of creation (1955).
2. Alternate Logo – simplified to just the
acronym (WPWPCA) for smaller uses and easier replication.
I’m confident these new designs will carry us
forward with a professional, unified image that honors our roots and our
commitment to the future. Look for the rollout of these logos in upcoming
communications!
As always, thank you for your support and
participation in WPWPCA. I’ll be in touch next week with some exciting
developments on our re-vamped website!
Warm Regards,
Robert Herring, PE, PMP
